Chapter 1 - Physics

This chapter provides an introduction to what the goal of physics is and provides an overview of applications and the scientific method in context. Additionally, the definition and use of physical quantities and measurements are explicitly communicated in this chapter.

Physics is the study of how and why physical phenomena occurs. Physicists tend to ask “why” questions and apply their understanding of basic phenomena to create more complex models and technology.
